Class Date: Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 9:00am to 3:00pm

Class Location: The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, located at 16 Glenmaura National Boulevard, Moosic, Pa. 18507

A Utah non-resident concealed firearm permit is one of the most widely recognized carry permits in the United States. Currently, this permit is valid in 30 states across the U.S. This 6 hour class meets the Utah requirement to apply for this highly sought after permit. This class is classroom lecture only and there is no shooting requirement or range time required to obtain this permit. The only way to apply for the Utah permit is by taking this class, taught by a Utah certified instructor. Utah does not accept any other form of training towards applying for the permit.

The cost of the class is $85.00. A student manual will be provided. Proactive Shooters will also supply the necessary fingerprint card (prints may be obtained after the class at your local law enforcement agency).

You must register and pay in advance to reserve a seat in this class. Registration can be conducted online by visiting our website link -

Or you can get a Florida Non Resident CC permit via the mail, and not bother with taking or paying for a course.

To get a Florida permit, you must show some kind of proof of prior firearms safety training and in some cases, even demonstrate live fire.

Some people desire to have good training, and they'll bother with taking and paying for a course.

I apologize, I'm not stalking you ProShooter...was actually just coming to the NY forum to see if anyone posted anything about the Rochester woman being arrested for filming (not gun related I know but I've seen several threads regarding recording of officers on this forum).

Again, for the folks that are unaware, we've had some recent changes.

One major change in the new law is regarding some non-resident applicants for the Utah concealed firearm permit. If a non-resident applicant is from a state that either has a formal reciprocity agreement with Utah or recognizes the Utah concealed firearm permit, the applicant must hold and provide proof of a current concealed firearm or concealed weapon permit issued by the applicant’s state of residency upon application for the Utah concealed firearm permit. This change will not affect those applicants who reside in a state that does not have formal reciprocity or recognition with Utah, i.e. California, New York, Kansas, etc.

    Upstate ny'ers

Unless the law has been changed recently, NY does NOT honor a Utah permit. I don't believe they honor any permit except their own.

Actually, New York has reciprocity/recognition with 15 other states. Adding a Utah non-resident permit makes the total number of states that a NY'er can carry in jump to 32. That is why it is such a valuable permit to have. For example, a NY permit is not valid for carry in Pennsylvania, but a Utah permit is valid in Pa. as well as Va, WV, Oh, De, etc so a NY'er can carry in those additional states.
