Welcome to politics in present day America.

If your candidate can't take it, then he really has no place in running for any office where you are subjected to public opinion on a daily (if not hourly) basis; both pro and con.

If you, as a booster for the candidate cannot deal with conflicting points of views and opinions, you should probably rethink your decision to use the internet in general.

Dick Black receives endorsement of VCDL- PAC; debate Aug. 10th

It seems Dick Black has received the endorsement of the VCDL - PAC:
The Virginia’s Citizen’s Defense League PAC, Virginia’s most active grassroots, pro-gun organization, has again endorsed former Delegate Dick Black in his race for State Senate in the 13th District. This is the ninth endorsement in a row by VCDL for Black for his outstanding work in protecting the Second Amendment.

Denis Fusaro, Chairman of the VCDL-PAC, said that Dick’s, “record of legislative activism, advocacy and awareness of the issues facing gun owners in Virginia led the PAC board to give [Dick] our endorsement.”

Tomorrow, August 10th, there will be a debate among the Candidates for the 13th Senate District for the State Senate in the Virginia General Assembly:
10th Congressional District Republican Committee-Hosted Debate

Who: Candidates for the 13th Senate District for the State Senate in the Virginia General Assembly

- Dick Black

- Bob FitzSimmonds

- John Stirrup

What: Debate hosted by the 10th Congressional District Committee.

The new 13th Senate District consists of parts of Loudoun and Prince William Counties.

When: Wednesday, August 10, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., meet and greet begins at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Rust Library, 380 Old Waterford Road, N. W.,

Leesburg, VA 20176

The 'Meet and Greet' gives gun owners the opportunity to discuss important gun rights issues, like campus carry, with all the candidates. Those who attend can also ask candidates gun rights questions during the debate.

Apparently, this will be the only debate before the August 23rd Primary.

Perhaps the PAC endorsement helped:

13th District, Virginia Senate
In the 13th District state Senate race, Richard H. Black defeated Prince William Supervisor John T. Stirrup and Prince William County Chief Deputy Clerk of Court Bob FitzSimmonds by a 3,142 to 3,029 to 1,923 vote, respectively. Black is a former member of the House of Delegates. A controversial figure and social conservative, Black lost a bid for re-election in 2005.

But in 2011, Black took an early lead in the race and continued the momentum throughout the night.

Perhaps now considered “Dick Black country,” the 13th Virginia Senate District includes large sections of northern and central Loudoun, including Purcellville, Hamilton, Oatlands, Lenah and parts of Ashburn. The district continues south in a relatively narrow strip into Prince William County. The Prince William part of the jurisdiction includes Gainesville and other outlying suburbs of Manassas. Seventy-four percent of voters in the district are from Loudoun.

Democrat Shawn Mitchell will attempt to win over the new district in the November election. The Broadlands resident is the president of an Ashburn-based HVAC business.
