    He's probably lucky it wasn't a member of this forum he tried that on. I hope he gets a felony conviction.

    The story so far seems to be missing a lot of details. Even if the guy thought he was attempting a legitimate citizen's arrest the use of deadly force is clearly unwarranted. I would be interested to see what else the investiation turns up.

    As far as we know he's crazy and was illegally carrying that gun.

    That sounds a lot more like attempted rape / robbery than citizen's arrest. I would guess that was his standby story if he got caught.
