DON`T TREAD ON ME

This 4th of July I was in Sacramento Ca. at a summit of sorts related to judicial and legislative matters as far as motorcyclists are concerned. One Item that came out of our sessions as a winner was my friend Douglas’s work on his website www.repealmachine.com This website is a way of tactically handling and staging all of the elections and candidates so they can be targeted with pinpoint accuracy. The reason I bring this up on OCDO is I had a phone conversation with Douglas last night and we decided that Nevada should be the testing grounds for his other site, www.guntheengine.com in a nutshell this is how the repeal machine works.
Incumbents and Candidates are shaded Green (rights friendly) or red (not so much)
Information as to their voting record and when they come up for re-election is stored.
A rating system is then applied to each election, so if two reds, or two greens are in a race, we do not use valuable resources to gain nothing. When a green runs against a red we take notice and the machine computes factors such as ** committee chair** or **majority whip** as ways to elevate a races status. We then concentrate on the closest most important race that is in the region near where are volunteers are located making our voices heard. Sometimes these races are won or lost with a handful of votes making the picking of “low hanging fruit” a reasonable goal.
No matter how a person feels about helmet choice on a motorcycle, it is a “personal freedom issue” and a barometer of how a candidate could vote in a gun situation. If we get involved we can learn the “machine” and make improvement suggestions, like adding Clark county Commissioners to the machine to get rid of gun registration. For the record I personally have struggled with the mechanics of the legislature, but this helps bring the mystery out of the process and gets me excited. Bring on the questions and comments.
