Shoot first, beat first, kill first. That's the new motto.

Eventually there WILL be a police exemption to Godwin's law. If you act like Nazis, you deserved to be called Nazis.

Sounds like the guy deserved it, he shot first (and missed). How you miss someone in the same room I don't know. Glad he did miss though.

This incident was reported in the Everett Herald this AM.

According to comments by a reader familiar with the home and person stated that police had been there several times before.

Just based off that story, there is simply not enough information to make a judgement call either way. Hope we get more developments to the story.

Snip...

"and then I heard a shot, a small shot." I love reading stuff like this. I didnt know the average citizen had the equipment to measure the size of a shot sound, maybe it was a class that he got a merit badge for in scouts.

A Bothell man reportedly was angry and walking toward a sheriff's deputy with a wooden cane raised over his head when the deputy tripped, fell and fired a fatal shot, according to a search warrant filed Tuesday.

...

Once its investigation is complete, a prosecutor will decide whether the deputy acted lawfully.

"Leyda told a sheriff's detective investigating the shooting that Brown "continued toward Deputy Simpson and stood over him with the cane raised," the search warrant said."

Not like he fired as a result of falling.
