And this dufus wants to be president!

Which dufus? Obama, Romney, Pawlenty, Bachmann.....? There's so many to choose from but Ron Paul isn't on the list. You can disagree with him certainly, but a dufus he is not.

He's better than the other candidates who seem to have little respect for the constitution and the actual job description.

+1

Some people watch a little too much O'Reilly and Hannity maybe?

Hey, even someone at the Huffington Post thinks it's a good idea to vote for RP

Running is not winning, he will do just as well in 2012 as he did in the past.

Oh, he'll do better this time around. How much better remains to be seen. He's got my vote either way. Since you didn't even know he was running the value of your prediction is suspect; in the very least.

Now back to the regularly scheduled thread.

Ron Paul needs to take to the streets... not just bumbling on the internet.

Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of what he is about... But, come on he needs to get serious. He could have a fighting chance.

This was supposed to be a funny and light hearted thread but I guess I'll have to answer to this comment as you seem a bit misinformed as well.

He's been taking to the streets all over the country lately and is not seeking relection in the house to focus on his presidential campaign.

He's second in fund raising, having raised 4.5 million in the second quarter; ahead of every "mainstream" candidate except for Romney.

Lastly, if you like the guy, YOU should be hitting the streets, or in the very least, not listening to the non-existent or biased coverage of the MSM.

Anyway, I was going to post a new "fact" but you made me forget, darn you! LOL

Their ignorance of the Constitution simply appears as a lack of respect.

I would say its both. The constitution isn't very big and is very easy to understand. They refuse to acknowledge the constitution which makes them ignorant of it and shows a major lack of respect for it and for the limited powers it grants them.

The election is over a year away. Doesn't it seem just a bit presumptuous to make such a prediction already?

Dr. Paul's biggest hurdle will be to overcome the media, ESPECIALLY the so-called "conservative" media who go much farther out of their way to defame the man than the liberal media ever has. The neo-conservative pundits like Hannity, Ann Coulter, Oreilly, et al, take every chance they get to make him out to be a kook because he doesn't fit in nicely with their perverted ideas of conservatism that include using our military as a world police force and tight government control on many personal freedoms.

IMO, Dr. Paul is the only candidate in the running that, if elected, would truly implement recognizable changes. Everyone else would be more of the same, just like Obama was to Bush, Bush was to Clinton, Clinton was to Bush 1, Bush 1 was to Reagan, and so on and so forth. There is a reason our country has steadfastly stayed on this path of progressive liberalism for the past 100+ years, folks, and it's never going to change with establishment-backed Republicans and Democrats in office.

This.^^

In a Wall Street Journal article this morning they used "Radical" to describe Paul as many times as they could. This begs the question:

When did peace and non-interventionist foreign policy, sound money backed by gold, balanced budgets, civil rights, and telling the truth become RADICAL where somehow preemptive war and world policing, fake money printed out of thin air, trilliion dollar deficits, the police state, and lying to the American people became the accepted status quo???!!!!

We are living in the twilight zone I guess. :(

Maybe so, but he'll still get my vote. Their is no other candidate that is as Constitutionally aware as he is. The rest of them that the right wants in office are as bad as the dems!

Running is not winning, he will do just as well in 2012 as he did in the past.
