Mother, child leap from moving car!

Just another reason to be armed at all times. Thank goodness they are okay.

Wow. She took quite a risk; glad things turned out OK for her & the baby.
It'd be better if she'd been able to make him get out of the car right away.
No risky exit from the moving car, & he couldn't have endangered everyone in his path with his wild driving.

The problem is that this all took place in the People's Republik of Maryland, where the State knows what's best for the serfs and makes it darned near impossible to get a permit to carry in the car or anywhere else.

Kudos to the mom for taking the risk of bailing at a (fairly) low speed instead of sticking it out to see which bridge abutment he used to shorten the OAL of the Lexus. I've hit the road at 5 mph and picked up some decent road rash even though I was wearing full-length denim (jeans, full-sleeve jacket) and a helmet.
