$15 an hour is hardly right for the position. In Obama's economy however, I suppose it's millionaire status, worthy of 40% taxation

Notice they want people to start in mid-SEP?
So JB thinks it'll take a month & a half to train people, since he's saying he won't have applications available until 01NOV.

If they'd have a satellite office in MKE, I'd apply for at least a PT job.
And why do you think $15/hr "is hardly right for the position"? Sounds like you think they should be paid more.

Imagine how mind numbing that job will be after a few weeks.

I'm looking for work, but it would have to pay more for it to be worth it. Not that the position "should" pay more, I'm just saying not worth it for a temporary position just to be let go again in April.

I think it should be a hiring requirement to own a handgun. Just think of all the madistan liberals that would be happy to take a job to smuggle out the private database information, or phuck up things in other ways.

For someone in the Madison area on unemployment, this would certainly be nice way to get through the winter. As far as the pay, I sure wish I made $15 hr.!!! And as far as temporary, the DOJ will have to do something after April.

It might be a decent 2nd job for a night shift worker looking for day work. You can bet it won't be 40 hours either, and very limited, if any, benefits.

In fact, I'd be surprised if it lasts through Feb or March, much less April. We all know there will be an initial flurry of applications, then a rapid drop.

Here are some figures from states our size and our neighboring states; these figures represent the number of active permits after stabilizing over a period of years:

    ..State.............Population.....Permits....... Percentage
    Missouri............5,988,927.....132,298....... 2.2%
    Maryland...........5,773,552.......47,000....... .8%
    Minnesota.........5,303,925.......79,183.......1.5 %
    Michigan..........9,883,640......229,226.......2.3 %

If we project Wisconsin's permit total using these figures we get:

    Wisconsin.........5,686,986........96,679........ 1.7% Average
    Wisconsin.........5,686,986......130,800......... 2.3% Maximum
    Wisconsin.........5,686,986.......45,496......... .8% Minimum

This would be the total active permits in the state after a period of years.

12 permits per hour $50 per permit. $525/hr profit for the state

So the State makes $525/per hour, or about $47 out of the $50 per permit. Of course there is a little bit of maintenance of the data base, so be generous and say the State makes $40 per permit. Say it comes to an average of 50,000 in state permits and 50,000 out of state permits (after next year) per year. Net to state, $4,000,000 per year, assigning $1,000,000 to the bureaucracy and maintenance of the data base. A very nice little racket.

So you're predicting that Wisconsin is going to expand into the non-resident permit business?
