I'll be leaving for your state tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had any pointers on the differences in law in NC as opposed to VA that I should watch out for?

Looks like standard open carry allowed as a general rule. I wasn't sure on car carry if I needed it to be open, or locked up and unloaded(I haven't gotten a chance to get my CHP yet so any benefits to reciprocity I don't get)

You can't carry in NC State Parks.

You can't carry in any establishment that sells alcohol for consumption on premise.

OC is legal on most of the beaches in NC as long as you are not in a "gameland" area.

You can't carry in any establishment or event that charges admission.

Keep your eyes open for "no guns" signs.
