Tan Do was quiet during much of his 10-year-old son's birthday party on Saturday.
But when his mother-in-law prepared to leave, all hell broke loose.
Loan Nguyen wanted to leave the birthday party after an hour to visit one of her sons in the hospital, her husband, Hoi Ta, said Tuesday during a news conference at Moore Funeral Home.
"When my wife said good-bye, Tan Do asked, 'You're going home now?'" Hoi Ta said through an interpreter. "That's when he started shooting."

This article doesn't go into great detail about all that happened but this is weird. Apparently the guy had a CHL but I do not have confirmed proof of that.
