Thread: Whatcom County OC |
Haggens Barkley, Starbucks Barkley, Lowes, Western Forest Products.
At Job site homeowners (wife and kids) developer with his son. Around 11 or 12 I think, he told me he wants to get a gun but wants his son to know more about them could I show him mine and the basics. So ejected magazine unloaded and had an impromptu show and tell and lecture on gun safety for the children (the adults were very attentive too) and let the son hold the pistol while reiterating what to do and the safety rules.
Father asked how he should go about getting one, but stated he wants his son to learn about them before he has one in the house. I offered to take them shooting and to help him go to the store and choose a weapon.
Homeowners are from India the Developer is from India but is a citizen his son is an American thru and thru, my help is from Ukraine, the electrician is Russian and we all ended up in a very positive conversation but our natural rights and how every household should have at least one firearm. (Not my words I mostly listened and corrected a few minor gun myths)
I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

Fred Meyers, Battery Shop, Goodwill, Kmart, Dairy Queen, just another day.
I had to stop behind a bus the other day. A small group(appx 6-8) of teens got off and walked past my van. One drummed his hands across my hood (he did not actually touch the metal) and then got up on my (closed) passenger window and made "faces" at me. He did not see the "weapon of the day" on my right hip. I smiled at him and he went away. Just a smart ass kid.
I will be driving down to the Bar-B-Que tomorrow.
Still up for Sunday at Starbucks.
Same bat time? I am going to work that day so I can take my break with you guys or guy.

Walking the dog at Birch Bay State Park.
Park Ranger asked me to put the dog on a leash. Nothing else said.
Customs officer ( wht. charger with the green strip ) drove past me.
Non-issue.
BTW my comment, on the jsanchez incident at Green Lake, got pick up in the
Seattle Examiner article by Mr. Anderson. His slant on the whole affair was disparaging.
I assumed it was a private forum between members.
Again, I am embarrassed by what I say.
I think I'll sit on the porch and watch the big dogs run.
Can you link me the article was it Workman's article? I don't see anything you said wrong in that thread. Andif it was Workman he isn't necessarily pro OC. And often shows his statist viewpoints. We once had an argument where he told me I was wrong for viewing OC as a 1st amendment issue and then months later wrote about how it can be a 1st amendment issue. So speak your mind your viewpoint is just as valid as self proclaimed "experts".

Robert, this is the article I was taking about

sorry don't know how to link it.
Cant read it for some reason, you have to be willing to take some shots by the statists though when standing up for our natural rights and against state tyranny. What you said was fine, and I stand by your statements.

Very true Tom.
And thanks for posting the link.
Ha! I was quoted too, although taken somewhat out of context.
The reporter was obviously slanted but not too bad. If you read the comments most of them were on board with us.

Walking the dog out at Semiahmoo point, a nice retired couple stop me and
asked about what breed of dog I have. The conversation continued and we touched
on a wide range of subjects. I know he (Corky) was just dying to ask me about
my sidearm. He had the good taste not to bring it up.
