Hi everybody! This is my first post here, and it's only a partial as my weekend away from CT while in Maine, specifically Scarborough and Old Orchard Beach area. I have a CCP in CT, and only CT. Though this weekend I am with my girlfriends family in Maine. We are camping, well RV'ing actually. Well, I never don't carry at home, so why not carry in Maine openly and legally.

Well after researching and reading the laws I came to the conclusion I can carry openly, though it must be unloaded while in or on a motorized vehicle. I confirmed this with the Scarborough police department, and that openly meant plainly visible, or if I wear a sweatshirt later tonight it will have to be behind my 1911.

Well earlier tonight we all went to a restaurant called Clambake I believe. Great food btw. I got a few strange looks but no one screamed gun or called the cops. After a short trip to the campground were now near the pier on OOB, and nothing worth mentioning, thankfully.

It is my first time open carrying anywhere. And it feels the same way it did the first time I carried concealed in CT, strange. But that quickly goes away. Well that's it for now. I will check in later or tomorrow. I don't plan on anything other than a repeat of tonight so fat, but, I shall report!

I'm glad you had an easy and uneventful evening. That is how it should be :) A lot of work went on behind the scenes to makes this possible for everyone. I like seeing our hard work bear such awesome fruit.

Welcome to the forum, and welcome to a taste of freedom.

Do you also OC in Connecticut? It's perfectly legal there too (with a permit), you know.
