Chrysler on nicholasville.

Today I was out browsing car lots looking for a new truck. As usual I was open carrying my sr9c. I went to Chrysler on nicholasville around 4pm this evening and was walking around the lot, I had a salesman tell me to come inside so we could discuss the price of a ford f350 I was interested in. On my way in the salesman told me I was not allowed to carry my firearm into the building, that they didn't allow firearms inside. I looked at the doors, (no signs stating this) so I asked to speak to his manager. I sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes waiting on the manager only to be greeted by a police officer from nicholasville. He "escorted" me outside to talk to me. And then told me I wasn't allowed back inside unless I put my firearm in my vehicle.
Any one see a problem with this?

Yeah, you went inside the building after being told not to bring your firearm in. That's trespassing. You're lucky you weren't arrested.

If it had been me, once I had been told my firearm was not welcome, I would have left.

The problem I see is an ironic anti-business policy.


EDIT: Everyone post a negative review on Google asking them why a business selling American cars does not respect the American Constitution.

It just made no sense to me. The salesman told me to come inside and wait for the manager. But they called the police instead

It seems odd they would tell you not to bring your gun in but then invite you in to wait.

Most likely, the manager didn't want to talk to you since you were carrying a gun and called the police instead to escort you off the property because you might have been bat-poo crazy and shot the poor little hoplophobe.

Wow Why did they even let you look at cars while ocing if it wasn't allowed in the building? That's so dumb. There was also no point in calling the police. How

And as for the manager, he called me around 8pm and "apologized" for the incident, telling me they had no policy against firearms on their property and invited me back (with my firearm) to find a vehicle. So I'm not so sure it was the manager, as to the salesman.

Although, if I did buy a vehicle from another dealer... I'd probably at least mail them a picture of it, with the reason I bought it elsewhere...

I sent the manager a respectful and professional email explaining why I chose to find another dealer to take my business to. After getting the email he called telling me what I stated above. And also telling me that he would personally deal with that employee

exactly. AN American car dealership that does not support an Americans right to protect himself. I would take my business elsewhere and let them know precisely why no one from their establishment will not be receiving any commission from your newly bought F350. Once you do buy one, drive through and let them know that you got your shiny new truck from a company that is NOT anti-american.

That genuinely sounds like the salesman was taking matters into his own hands and didn't even alert the manager. It sounds like he genuinely wants your business, regardless of whether you choose to carry for protection. I would be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt personally, but I would certainly understand if you didn't want to conduct business with that dealership.

Yea that's what I was thinking, seeing how I'd been to the dealership 2 or 3 times prior while carrying and never had a complaint. I did receive a call from the nicholasville police chief apologizing for the officers action toward me the day the incident occured and I have since been back to the dealership without any issues

hahaha, that means he probably fired him.

I can just imagine the manager's fury when you told him that. "A guy walks in here planning on dumping the cash on an F-350 AND YOU DID WHAT!?"

I'll bet he couldn't kick him out of the building fast enough.

No I think the manager just had a talk with him, I went back and the salesman kept glaring at me. Could be because he knew he wasn't getting the commission if I did purchase a vehicle lol
