Let's do an OC lunch 12:00 noon at Virginia BBQ 9/16/11

How 'bout we meet at 12:00 noon at Virginia BBQ on Liberia Avenue in the eastern end of Manassas on Friday, September 16?

    weekend?

Are there any weekend meets? Seems most are during the week. I work in Clarendon, on the 2p-10p shift, so can't really do the weekday events.

It looks like real BBQ too!
When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force.

Sure. Why not go ahead and put something together. I'll give you a hand since I also live in western Prince William County. If you want we can meet somewhere out here and come up with a plan for one on perhaps a Saturday. I'm flexible.

Past tense? Meaning you're no longer having weekly OC get-togethers there?

For those who might need some direction to Virginia BBQ, head east on Liberia Avenue, away from route 28 and towards the Prince William County Parkway. Just before you come to the intersection of the parkway, there will be a strip mall on your right; Davis Ford Shopping Center. Virginia BBQ is in that strip mall.

If you're coming from the eastern end of PWC on the parkway, go through the intersection at Liberia Avenue, then take your next right at a light (about 50+ yards) into the strip mall parking lot. At this point, you're very close to Virginia BBQ (less than 100 yards).

Check Google Maps for more detailed info but please note that Google Maps places this little restaurant in a different shopping center, which is across Wellington Road from the Davis Ford Shopping Center where Virginia BBQ is. So Google Maps is in error with this one.

I believe I'll be there... my only concern that day is that I have to be at an obligatory "bench/bar" softball game in Warrenton by six.

Btw, Sterling's a bit of a "fur piece" to me. I can get there occasionally, but frankly, it's easier to get to the River City Diner on Parham Rd. (Richmond), and takes just about as long. Best place in Pr.Wm. area for me would be Manassas.

    Gentlemen, and of course lady;

Thanks so much for making the lunch today. Great group of people, excellent conversation, and very good food (need to keep Virginia BBQ on our list for sure). I really enjoyed meeting some new folks and naturally, seeing two I know from past events and more. It was a real high point of the week.

This was great. Let's do it again in the not too distant future.

Y'all take care and to LMS Tactical, you gotta try some grits. Trust me, you'll soon be a grit eating good ole boy.

    What a GREAT lunch!

I had a fantastic time at lunch and enjoyed the great BBQ. The highlight was meeting everyone and the conversation was fun and interesting. I could have stayed all day long, I was having so much fun. Thank you all for making a new open carry guy feel so welcome. If the group of people at lunch was representative of the caliber of folks involved with Virginia Open Carry....... I have found a new home What a classy and interesting bunch of fine Americans! I can't wait for the next one and for those who missed out....... I strongly encourage you to try hard to make it next time. I would love to see at least one lunch a month.

SouthernBoy....... I promise that I will try grits before the year ends

Stay Safe all and have a great weekend.
