For my fellow HI residents, a question...

Is there a shortage of NRA Certified Instructors on the Big Island? It seems that there are lots of classes that satisfy the permit to acquire
requirements,l but the waiting lists seem long...

Any ideas? Also, anyone interested in creating an open carry event here in the Hilo area?

Check out your state laws.
http://www.handgunlaw.us/ is a good resource.

From what I've read here: http://www.honolulupd.org/info/gun134-9.htm
it's a felony to carry open or concealed w/o a permit, which
according to this: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/hawaii.pdf
has practically never been issued in HI (only to PIs).

You might be able to stretch the definition of "sojurn" to include a Starbuck's... but again, good luck finding enough people with permits to make it worthwhile. And if a judge disagrees with you, it's a felony.

There is a suit against the state for infringing the 2A, but it's likely to take a while.
Beautiful state, terrible laws.

Hey Blackout it's a no go on OC, but I will be on Oahu December did a empty holster protest a few days. Started lots of conversations.

I used to live Paipaiko and surf Honolii all the time. If I have time maybe I can get to Big Isle we go Starbucks and talk story.
