When I tried the link it was about a fire? Not a murder? maybe I am missing something?

There is a small side-scroll playlist under the media player with 3 options to 'click to watch video'. The first one is part one that you are watching by default (about the fire). Click the 2nd one to watch part 2.

Thank you for the speedy reply! I am a security guard now working part time. Near Cass and Michigan Ave. Heres something that happened a few days ago. I was on a foot patrol of the property when I saw a guy walking from a building that is a part of my responseabillity. The standing orders are to tell anyone seen on prorpety to leave immediately It was around 1:30pm. He was tall and when I got closer he seemed to be a homeless guy. I called out to him and when he turned to me he stumbled a little and but stayed where he was. I said Sir this is private property and I have to ask you to leave. He and I quote. "me I am going to smoke leave me alone" and continued on his way. I got in his way and said again Sir you must leave now I will escort you to the nearest exit and you can smoke on the bench outside the fence. He put his hand in his pocket and said "Go away now I won't hurt if you just leave now!" I said yes sir and walked backwards towards my car where my gun was put it and my holster on. Its an unarmed account so I was not permitted to carry a firearm, but I could bring it onto the property so long as I did not have it on my person while working.

So keeping him in my sight I got my cell phone and called the supervisor who said call 911 but don't go near him again and keep him in sight. 911 was call at 1:38 pm I got off at 10:30pm. the man left the property at 8:50. The cops never showed even after calling 911 2 more times. and thats very typical of what happens. Said my supervisor. Property crimes are forgotten or ignored, or put so low down or the priority scale that cops are just wishfull thinking. Calls to detroit 911 are triaged in order of severity IMO. And IMO only actual violent crime is even put high enough up the ladder that you will "eventually" see a cop.

if your supervisor knows the police won't come, it's hard to believe they won't let you be armed!
Its an insurance thing, to insure armed guards then the client has to pay more. The going rate for an unarmed guard is 7.50$ armed 10-15. it all about money. If I were to use my gun at an unarmed account then the insurence wouldn't honor any claims because they were only contracted for an unarmed rate. But if i die then thats covered, cheaper also.
