I've been going for years. Knob Creek is the scene of some of my dumbest decisions. Here's one example. There was a Louisville company named Group Industries that made machine guns. Group Industries went bankrupt. They had several hundred Uzi receivers that had been registered as machine guns before the cutoff in 1986. A company named Vector Arms, from California, bought the receivers in the bankruptcy sale and started building new Uzi's on them. Several years ago at Knob Creek a friend, who is a FFL, and I were offered two of these Uzi's for $2500 each. We were told that they could be shipped directly to my friend, with no Ky. sales tax, because he had a FFL. We had never heard of Vector Arms, questioned the quality of them and were very suspicious that this whole deal was illegal and didn't buy them. Many others did and never had any problems with them. Vector Uzi's are now considered some of the best made Uzi's in the world and sell for $8000-$9000. I've found other ways to avoid making large sums of money over the years at Knob Creek . I'll be there Friday and Saturday, probably passing on other good deals and may be renting an Uzi to shoot, because I don't own one. I'm not sure about Sunday, it's a short day and I have other places I need to go and make dumb decisions there.
