Unfortunately..., North Carolina Law 14-409.40(f) Allows Municipalities or Counties to..., Prohibit The Possession of Firearms in Public‑Owned Buildings, [and] on The Grounds or Parking Areas of those Buildings...,.
Subsection (f) is an Exception to The General Applicaiton of Subsection (b) of that Particular General Statute.
So..., it would Depend on whether or not The Political Subdivision that Owns or operates that Firearm Department has an Ordinance agaisnt that Practice.
Absent The Ordinance though..., it would be Legal to take a Firearm to a Firearm Department in North Carolina.
