Application states when renewing your cpl you need to sign that you had 3 hours of pistol saftey course, my ? do you have to have a certified instructor give this course, and a certifacaion number or just your own review to state you are compliant.

You have to sign an affidavit saying you have reviewed for 3 hours and spent at least 1 hour on a range within the last six months. Renewal courses are NOT required. Most are a scam to make money. There are a few where you will improve your knowledge and skills. Additional QUALITY training is never a bad thing.
