Yes, sad.

California is a beautiful state with friendly people (I've met) but majority Democrat weepy eyed brain dead voters reelect the same idiots into state office.

I dont think we should forget that long gun registration was ignored by Governor Brown, which defacto allows that law to go into practice as well. Sadly, I may be moving TO the DPRK for work (I wouldn't consider it unless it was a top notch job) and I am happy to help fight the good fight to restore our rights in California should that become a reality. In the meantime, I mourn for them.

Good luck. You will never, *EVER* be able to restore lost rights in CA. The state is too libtarded beyond redemption (note: libtard == liberal retard). I weep for those who have to stay and try to fight the eternal losing battle.

Somebody in the CA forum mentioned something I find interesting and incredibly ironic. The State of Vermont is one of the most liberal states in the Union, and they don't have a system in place for carry permits open or concealed. You can just carry! Though I think Vermont's practice of liberalism equates with liberty -- not stupidity.

I often think of Vermont as being "liberal" in the classic sense of liberal -- not the modern messed-up, socialism-r-us version.

Oh really?

The most liberal state as measured by the percentage of voters who claim that label was Vermont at 30.5 percent. Again, not a surprise for a state that could send Sen. Bernie Sanders to the Senate - the wonderful socialist he is.

10 Most Liberal -
Vermont
Massachusetts
Rhode Island
Oregon
California
Washington
New York
Illinois
Maryland
Minnesota

Your "thinking" isn't borne out by the facts... sorry.

And yet, for being the most liberal state in the Union, they are the only state that has no permit system whatsoever (AZ, AK, and WY still have permits) and allows open and concealed carry. -- Which is the goal of our cause is it not? And I have heard nothing about them changing that policy any time soon either. Which is my point and PV's point. For a very very liberal state, they have arguably the loosest gun laws in the country. Also Oregon and Washington are shall issue and OC permissible states as well and they are VERY liberal. (Portland being a caveat). Many of the more conservative states don't allow open carry at all, or are licensed open carry. (TX, OK, AR, SC, and FL come to mind). So just because a state has a particular political label doesn't mean that their policies pertaining to firearms carry equate with that label.

Agreed... never meant to disagree. Was only stating what IS fact. Vermont deserves the "liberal" political label, and not in the "classic sense." Evidently their policies pertaining to firearms have "escaped" their general love of "liberalism." Might be a great question for Bernie Sanders... what's his stand on the 2nd Amendment?

Interesting. If forced between Vermont and any of its neighbors (except maybe NH) I would choose Vermont as a place to frequent. Certainly not the Empire State. California is way far gone. I'd happily help fight the good fight to restore our rights if I had to live there, but on the whole I don't have a problem with the policies of the western states. I think Clark County, NV could do away with registration and I certainly think that battle is in the realm of possibility to win. I do think that with the current political climate in California that the OC movement attracted the wrong kind of attention. Most people don't have a problem with firearms carry, but the reactionaries that make decisions suddenly think OC is a threat to public order when there is mountains of evidence to the contrary. States around the US are affirming the 2nd Amendment while California throws it out. I love OCDO's motto of "A right unexercised is a right lost" but I cant help but wonder if that backfired in California. "If you exercise your rights we will take them away from you." Certainly seems to be the climate in CA. The point of this ramble is maybe the OC movement should have been more low key until representatives in Sacramento would be more favorable to relaxing the noose tight restrictions there. (AK having common sense, but then again, they did re-elect barbara boxer).
