I need a non WI resident who has a permit from one of the states listed on the 'recognition' list to come with me on 11/8 to the Walworth County Board meeting.

What I want to do is have that person sit in the audience concealing. As part of my speech I will ask the board if they know whether anyone is armed in the audience. I need to show that the signs are stupid.

Would not you carrying a pocketknife (that "opens with a motion" as I recall the definition of switchblade) be simpler, safer (for the scapegoat) and more straight forward?

Interesting isn't it? A non-resident carrying a non-resident permit can start conceal carry in Wisconsin on 12:01AM Nov. 2. We probably won't start getting our permits to carry until December. In goverment 90% of the work gets done in the last 10% of the schedule. No reason the DoJ can't start receiving application now. All the rules are published and are in effect. They could sart issuing permits Nov. 2nd if they had a mind to. Just another example of an entrenched liberal minded core DoJ trying to preserve a police state. Too many Doyle likers at the level that makes the decisions.

My opinion.

I assume you meant 11/1, not 11/2.

From what I understand, the fly in the ointment for the DOJ is that they are not allowed to start background checks until 11/1. You are right, however, in that they could have all the stuff keyed into the computer, all the 'training' verified, and then a batch job cycles through all the applications at 12:01 11/1 and they start printing and mailing permits that day.

I HOPE PAUL CAN PULL THIS OFF. I think it is exactly what we need to get the point across that posting is futile and only an expresion of paranoia. Have a good old fashioned show and tell. In my opinion it would be perfectly legal and without risk. The only caveat is that if the person carrying is asked to leave he/she must leave immediately to avoid a trepass citation.

Point of caution to Paul: Now that you have tipped your hand be aware of any signs that may be posted. Nothing says they can't be possted prior to Nov. 1. I suggest any furthur discussion on this topic be done via PM. NEVER KNOW WHO IS MONITORING THESE THREADS.

Yes. If I can't get someone, I was considering concealing a orange/blue gun as long as someone can assure me it isn't a facsimile firearm.

Good luck with your plan. If you offer to bankroll the out of staters legal fees you have a slim chance of getting a dummy.

Huh? With a permit from one of the states the DOJ has listed, the out-of-stater carrying inside the building is NOT breaking a law. They haven't voted to post the building yet. The meeting we would be attending is the one that would allow posting. Even if he sat there after they passed the ordinance, WI law says he has to be notified and would have a chance to leave.

Obviously a LEO could do whatever they want but I am fairly sure the Sheriff will at the most escort them out and say 'don't come back'.

Fairly sure is not enough reassurance to get someone from out of state to carry a concealed firearm at a county board meeting. A disaster in the making.

You could also just ask if they are 100% SURE there is NO ONE in the room with a gun....they will NEVER actually know for sure...another demonstratoin of how ineffective signs are.

They have as much chance of being arrested as I do for walking down the street wearing an orange shirt. Any cop that wants to be a jackass can arrest you for any reason they dream up in their mind.

Then don't so it.

Can I assure no one will be arrested? No! Can I assure we wouldn't be breaking the law? Yes!

Since I know you are not a licensed attorney, I would suggest you get an opinion from one. Now that this thread is in the public eye and you have admitted to trying to set your scenario up, you perhaps would be in more trouble than the person carrying if your plan gets unhinged.

If you take the time to read Act 35 and the related WI Statutes you will clearly see that what is being suggested is 100% legal. It is silly to suggest that Paul would get in any "trouble"...

LOL! Yeah, I heard that there is a new crime, conspiracy to no break the law. If we show up and there are signs on the doors or they make an announcement that firearms aren't allowed in the building, I would assume we would leave the gun in the car. Otherwise, no laws broken.

As for advertising this, who cares? If the supervisors sit in the room and think that all the audience is packin' it just proves my point! Also, if I decide to conceal a blue/orange gun, there would be no violation even if they were posted.

What REAL "trouble" can you get in if you do not break the law?
Our new law allows out of state people (with out of state permit) to conceal carry as of Nov. 1st.
No broken law, no trouble...
No balls, no brass ring...

We did not get our CCW law without a fight...

Is JPM Going To Be In Wisconsin Soon?

Jim would fit the description of the person you need. Heck, I would do it if I weren't a WI resident. I'm sure many of us would if we fit the legal description.

As for the "Blue" gun, if it is one of those blue Glock training tools I'm sure it is not a facsimile weapon and would work quite well. You could always put a block of wood in your pocket and use it as the prop when your speech is over.

As for concealed carry..."Out of sight, out of mind". Keep the Sheeple safe in their own minds.
