According to an October 20th article published on the St. Petersburg Times’ Tampabay.com, Florida Representative Rick Kriseman (D-Pinellas) is urging county lawmakers to endorse a local measure allowing voters to opt out of the newly effective penalties of Florida’s recently amended firearms preemption statute. Good luck!

So, they're trying to create a way for voters to remove the penalties and make a patchwork of 'we can do whatever we want with no consequences.'

Am I following that?

The original article is a bit sparse on details, but that's the way I read it. The bill is in draft form for introduction to the legislature, but I'm pretty sure it won't even see committee. The legislature has zero reason to reverse itself.

And it is the LOCAL or COUNTY government NOT THE VOTERS that are violating the preemption law spurring the passage of the PENALTY ON THE LOCAL OR COUNTY GOVERNMENT for not complying with State Law. Sure, absolve voters from any responsibility on this..... they aren't the subject of the amendment anyway. Talk about a waste of time and effort by this particular politician (yep, read that as dripping with sarcasm!)

Meh, I don't see it. As we all know around here, particularly after the latest OC bill fiasco, most of our Florida lawmakers clearly have no balz.

Oh yes they do. They're emptying them onto OUR faces...

Our 'supporters' are treating us like mushrooms. They have no intention of ever passing OC in FL. Our pal who has not yet been hit by a bus is only taking the heat because she knows she won't get run out of office. her county has the perfect combination of Socialists and Neocons. She takes the hate with no consequences while the rest pretend to go along with it.
