DOJ spokeswoman Dana Brueck says as of early afternoon Tuesday, the agency had received 110 applications, approved 90 and printed 42 permits.

Cool beans. It's nice to know they got right to work. Maybe I should have just hung out after turning in the application at the capitol and picked mine up, fresh off the printer.

If I had even *thought* they'd start actually working on the permits today I may have taken the day off and drove the 4.5 hours to get there. Then again with the cost of gas I really have no urge to pay $300 for a permit.

Mailed mine out early this morning. Walgreens was so busy yesterday that I put off my passport photo till today. Would have driven out there but after being laid off I need to save every penny I can.

Passport photo? What for? Have you read the application or the law or the rules?

Wow, thats awesome. I would have never thought that A. the application would have been on the doj website at midnight and B. they would be processing them so soon. Pleasantly surprised :D

OK Paul, inquiring minds want to know. Which proof of training did you submit?

Not the one we all were pulling for... Lol.

Also, to keep it on topic, if they went in order, mine is already printed. But, they were in a garbage can, so... Would have had to dump it out, and pick it out just right... Either way, My hope is less than a week. Hey, we were FIRST! :p

I heard most of the above numbers on Public Radio... They also said something about the DOJ Application page got somethig like 80 - 100,000 hits today...???

I was number 4 in line.. would been first but 3 guys got in early..... Before the Capital Police opend the doors at eight. An emplyee let me and three other guys in early (about 7:45) but the Capitol Police escorted us back outside....

First I thought three might have been Capitol employee's but then I remeber something about somebodyy thought it might have been the instuctor here that some dislike..??? Bender...?????

Just what I heard someone say after I handed in my app...

I'm thinking I'm right up there close to the top. My app was in the mail room at the Capitol by 8:00 and might have hit the processing room soon after. I'll see my rural carrier at 9:30 in the morning. If my permit was mailed in Madison yesterday, I should have it. just thinking.
