The Yellow Cat has downloaded the Wisconsin Dept of Justice Training Manual and slideshow presentation and, if there is sufficient interest, will be offering a Wisconsin Concealed Carry Course lasting 4 hours and meeting WI DOJ requirements. A course completion certificate meeting the WI DOJ requirements will be issued to students who pass the course. The Yellow Cat meets WI instructor requirements as he is certified by a National Organization that Certifies Firearms Instructors (NRA) and a Law Enforcement Agency that certifies firearms instructors (Utah BCI) - by whom I am certified as a Utah Concealed Firearms Permit Instructor.
If there is sufficient interest, the WI CFP course will take place after the Utah Concealed Firearms Permit Course scheduled for November 12, 2011 from 10 am - 2 pm. I continue to recommend that WI residents get the UT permit for the purpose of reciprocity in neighboring States (example: MN) or when traveling across country. Currently, WI residents may carry in WI on a WI Permit and in 14 States (3 of which, VT, AK, and AZ are constitutional carry). The UT Permit gives Wisconsin Residents a total of 33 States in which they may carry; nearly 70% of the USA. And, my fees are at best 20% of the going market rate in WI for the UT permit (and that is if you are not a WI Carry member or not a member of NRA). If you are a disabled vet or hold the purple heart, my fees are less than 5% of what the UT CFP course is going for in WI.
NIK of WI Carry is promising WI Residents Free Training. I would be a hypocrite if I were to do any less. Thus, if there is enough interest, and I hold the course, the fee will be "voluntary pass the hat" with no requirement to actually contribute, but recognizing that the Yellow Cat could be using this time to teach his much more lucrative courses (such as "Golfing With Glocks"). Please keep in mind that when the Yellow Cat visits Wisconsin, he travels 1500 miles one way to do so.
So, is there interest?
