Yes. They do have a rep. for being ammo picky, especially when new. Mine wouldn't run American Eagle ammo. Now, many hundreds of round later, it'll eat just about anything I feed it. Common advice is to run a couple hundred rounds of FMJ, round nosed ammo (not the flat nosed stuff like Winchester White Box) before you start testing out hollow points.
My personal gun has fed Winchester White Box el-cheapo ammo just fine from the beginning but the same warranty center smith previously mentioned said that the majority of ammo related failures they've found were with flat-nosed ammo. Since he has a much wider sample size to draw from than I do I tend to believe him
Bronson
Powerball ammo works real good!
the only places I would have to "worry" about would be Target, Michael's, the post office and maybe the park
Bronson, that fail sounds pretty odd...even for a n00b like me!
My brother grabbed me some PMC, so I'll see how that goes *hopefully* tomorrow. I'm itching to try this thing out!!!
I knew there was SOME reason I never got a membership at Costco. It is also against your costco membership rules you signed. They dont permit OC or CC, w/ or w/o a CPL.

Yes - The Target by me sells alcohol too. I knew Michael's would be gravy.
The hubby and I went to Costco yesterday, and I said I had to go put the gun away. He said "Why? You've got a case to put it in in the car, right?" I said "Yeah, but I can't carry it in Costco." The conversation continued like this...
Him: why not?
Me: Because I don't have a CPL.
Him: So?
Me: They sell alcohol...
Him: OK...so?
Me: I can't carry in a store that has a liquor license without a CPL.
Him: You can OC right?
Me: No...they sell alcohol
Him: *completely confused look*
Me: Ok...I can't carry...AT ALL in a place that has a liquor license right now. Costco sells alcohol, so I'm pretty sure they have a liquor license...meaning, I can't carry there.
Him: Why can't you OC there?
Me: BECAUSE I CAN'T CARRY IN A PLACE THAT HAS A LIQUOR LICENSE WITHOUT A CPL!!!!
Him: Oh.
It gave me a good chuckle at least! LOL
Sec. 234d. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), a person shall not possess a firearm on the premises of any of the following:
What they don't know can't hurt her.You weren't on Costco's premises (including parking lot) with the gun were you? Even keeping the gun in your vehicle in the parking lot is illegal without a CPL. Not saying you did since it's not clear by what you said just want to make sure.
So really not only can you not carry there but you can't have it on their property at all.
