Well I am quite disappointed in the results of today's election. Beshear and Conway both made it back in office, and its gonna be a rough four years ahead, te main problem is having Jerry abramson In the Capitol. What's everyone else's thoughts/feelings?

I too was hoping for a better election day. I wanted Beshear out of office. Sadly that didn't happen. It sickened me that only about 23% I think it was that came out to vote today. I hear a lot of people complain about the politicians and when I ask if they vote. Most of the people I ask that question say no they don't or I wasn't interested in this election. My reply to them is well then shut your mouth. If you didn't vote you didn't earn the right to bitch and complain. Simply put... get off your lazy asses and vote. (LOL) I was hoping that Conway didn't get reelected again and sadly he was. All in all I lost 3 votes and won 3. 50/50 not bad. (LOL) I just wish people would exercise their rights and not take them for granted. It is truly a sad country we live in today.

I might catch flak for it but... I voted straight Democrat. At-least I voted... At the Owingsville middle school where we vote at, there was three other people with me, and the voter sign-off people said I was the tenth person to come in to vote... Also, whats with this "Show ID and SSN card" at voting stations?

I too was very disappointed about the whole election. I only hope that more people come out during the presidential elections. That's the one we need to concentrate on now. I only hope that more than 23% come out for that one.

Why did you have to show both? I've never had to give my ssc. And if you vote democrat that's your right, and most democrats in Ky stand for our constitution. However grimes, and abramson I could certainly do without, and beshear furloughed me 6 days this past year and upset me and every other state worker. I've been in state govt. 5 years and this is my lowest gross year out of all of them. Conway has disappointed me as well, other than a opinion or two on foia, and open meeting law, he has not done anything while in office. Although if it was up to me we would be self governed and wouldn't ask for permission for nothing, being as we are all free, equal people with many rights. Our federal socialist administration certainly has to be done away with come next year, and I beg everyone to vote republican in our presidential election, and congressional elections. If we have 4 more years of Obama, we are all going to lose our freedoms as Americans.

I would have voted but didn't register in time, however I don't think David Williams had much more to offer than beshear IMO it was a lose/lose situation. As for the presidential election I think we are pretty much screwed there also on both sides as we all know it will not be Ron Paul coming out on top in the primary.

But that's just my opinion

I think the election went well. Beshear is a pro-gun governor. Now I do agree his running mate may not be a pro-guy, that's why the NRA didn't endorse in the governors race. Beshear is more fiscally conservative than David Williams, who wants to cut everyone's budget but his own. As far as the AG's race, Conway was rated A by the NRA, I think P'Pool was going to be weak on our other rights, like speech and information which, to me, is 2nd only to the right to bear arms.

I won't comment on your choices, that's your business. I voted for some D's and some R's and one I. I can assure you everyone of them is pro-gun. I've never been asked for a SS card in order to vote (I don't think its legal, but can't find the law right now and don't have time to look. What county is this? I'll get back to it later.), DL or other state ID is normal. I always use my CCDW as ID. It really irritates some people and I like to irritate that type. I believe everyone in my precinct knows me and vice versa, but I show it anyway. When I went in to vote, my wife and I were the only voters in the firehouse. Its a very small community.
According to the law, if you are not personally known to one of the precinct workers you have to show a form of ID, it doesn't have to be a picture ID, it can be a credit card or something along those lines.

@Drake any reason you voted for anti-2nd amendment candidate(s)?
I don't think any of the candidates on the ballot where anti-2nd amendment, either side. Beshear had an A rating(if it hadn't been for his choice of a running mate he would have had the NRA endorsement), Conway was endorsed by the NRA.

Secretary of State
Alison Grimes(d)- AQ
Bill Johnson(r)- AQ

Treasurer
Todd Hollenbach(d) - AQ
K.C. Crosbie(r) - AQ

Agriculture
Bob Farmer(d)- AQ
James Comer(r) - A

Auditor
Adam Edelen(d) - AQ
John Kemper(r) - A-

I do want to clarify that I did not mean to insinuate that Democrats are anti-2nd amendment. I agree with the sentiment on this thread that Abramson is the only Anti on the ballot that I know of. Now I would say that much of the Democratic ticket is anti-liberty in other areas (certainly Williams is too), but that's a different, non-firearm related debate.

I also concur with the statement that all that is required is a credit card, license, CCDW, etc (or personal recognition of an election worker) in order to vote. I worked the polls last year and I had to turn someone away that only had an insurance card :/

@gutshot; County of Bath. Walked in, was told to show an ID, and my SSN Card or I wouldn't be able to vote. That didn't occur when I voted in the '08 elections, and I don't know any of the precint handlers.

@langzaiguy; I looked at the issues, and researched the background of the important Democrat candidates, along with the Republican candidates. Honestly speaking, I could have easily voted for republican, because it didn't really matter WHO I voted for, both parties in this state are center-left on the majority of issues. They only disagree when it makes them look good... But now I'm just preaching to the choir. Both parties are pro 2A... Kentucky has, and will always be a red state in national elections, Kentucky has and will be a pro 2a state. The main factor in my voting, was the democrat ticket was just a tab bit more friendly to LGBT equality and rights/protections than the republicans. And thankfully this is one election where I dont have to choose ONE OR THE OTHER. I get both issues i care most about being pro and friendly on the ticket. ... Let the hate on that begin :/

But I honestly hope more people get out to vote in the national election... but somehow, some way, I know it'll be low voter turn-out, like it always is. Nothing is gonna change with that, no matter how fired up we may get, we're but a minority grouping of voters comparing to the tens of millions of Americans registered to vote, but who dont.

No hate here. I disagree with you but your position is well thought out and logical. Generally, I get frustrated when people vote straight ticket thinking that one party is the solution. I don't have a problem with straight ticket in and of itself, just when people don't examine the issues & candidates.

I know in Kentucky you generally cannot always equate "D" with being anti-gun.

But what you can equate "D" with is being pro-obozo.

This is precisely why I voted straight R this time.

Check into this drake, dOnt let them control people's rights illegally. I believe in showing I.D., unlike our new secretary of state who wants a free for all, but don't believe in showing ssc. That is unjust.
