Hey guys...

I'm heading over to Las Cruces on Monday and I'm thinking about coming with my firearm. I currently have a SC permit and know I'm covered to carry concealed but how is OC in Las Cruces? This will be my first time to NM and I'm looking forward to it. Any info appreciated.

I've never had any trouble under normal circumstances. Guns aren't normally a problem around here unless there's something else going on that gets people's hackles up. Be sure to not OC in any licensed liquor establishment in New Mexico. This includes gas stations, Walmarts and any other place that sells any kind of alcohol. You can carry concealed in places that sell for off-premises consumption and some restaurants, but not openly or unlicensed.

Don't carry openly in the Mesilla Valley Mall, they say carry's off limits there, but they aren't properly posted. If they do bother you, that's considered verbal notification and you'd better leave or get charged with trespassing.

Thanks for the reply...I'm a little late responding...just got back from New Mexico tonight and I enjoyed the trip. I did decide to take a firearm with me and only OC'ed once but without problems. New Mexico is beautiful and will look forward to heading back that way at some point. Thanks again for the info.
