Good for that kid. Now somebody buy him a good .22 rifle so that the next time he can really defend Mom. Of course, I really hope he never has to face that again.

As an aside, I don't know how they are now, but those pump-action Daisy BB guns hurt a lot worse than the lever-action ones did.

I doubt the boy has the strength to pump a BB gun enough for it to do much damage. But they are pretty powerful when pumped enough.

Dang what's a guy gotta do to be the OP on something like this? I read it and came right here and I'm beat. LOL

I've got a pump action BB gun but can't imagine being able to pump it up four times. I'm wondering if it's one of those single stroke types? Anyway, some of those puppies put out a good thump and a hit in an eye could make a serious (possibly even fatal if lucky) injury.

KUDOS to the kid and I second the notion of buying him a real gun....though it's probably a major violation to do so....so buy one for his mom!!!!

I had a Daisy 880 when I was 10 and could pump it 10 pumps with no problems.

At 10 pumps, it was about 475 fps if I remember right.

I looked it up according to the specs, the 880 with 10 pumps and a BB is 750 fps, slightly less with a pellet.

You'll put your eye out with, Ralph!

There, now. Feel better??:monkey:monkey:monkey:monkey

But...but...but... the report says he shot him in the face...three or four times... and doesn't say he put his eye out...
Could it be that we've been lied to all these years, and the 'you'll put your eye out' is just propaganda being used to deny us our right to bear BB guns?

I could have had a BB gun and NOT put my eye out?

Now I'm bummed.:(

"...Officers say the boy hit the attacker with a board and then shot him in the face with the pump-action BB rifle as he grappled with the woman."

What a brave kid!

Don't you know that Mom is proud of him. :D
