when have police not been a military for exclusive use against a country's own citizens? Federal law at least used to be enforced by the militia, so at least it was the people.

Merely part of the process. Funny thing is the Republicans are big on perpetuating the military complex, and Democrats are big on a healthy sized police force. Did either group occupying the same coin expect something more? It makes sense that local police forces would take on military tactics.

Wake up people, you are being duped.

1 - "Posse Commitatus" involves the active duty military, and has over the years been weakened http://www.homelandsecurity.org/journal/articles/trebilcock.htm to the point that there is some serious blurring of the lines in everything except patrolling the streets and writing traffic citations.

I'm not saying that either blogger has the "right" answer but they articulate several points better than many others have done so far.
stay safe.

Posse Commitatus, was ridiculous at the outset. It should be done away with along with the military federal forces who's sole existence is to enforce federal law. Both are clearly unconstitutional as the militia is supposed to enforce federal law.
