Okay, so if my gun is holstered in a belt or leg holster, and I'm riding in my husband's vehicle.... my gun is readily accessible but legally considered to be openly carried. Am I forbidden from riding in a vehicle with a holstered pistol since it is readily accessible?

You may open carry a firearm while in a vehicle.

Exception:
An Oregon Appeals Court decision has found that your car is now considered a "public place." That means that possessing a loaded firearm in a vehicle may be considered a crime if the locality in which you are traveling has a ban on open loaded carry.

OFF and State of Oregon v. Bryan P. Ward

A CHL exempts you from the loaded firearm restrictions.

I'm not a lawyer, make sure you read the laws to cover all bases.
