I'm thinking about upgrading to a retention holster for my Taurus PT-145, for the times when I OC. The recent story of the Richmonder who was killed after a successful gun grab gave me the willies. I spent a couple hours looking for stock holsters but didn't see anything that I liked.

I currently use a Don Hume JIT but it has really loosened up. I like this open top design and would get a similar product if I could be convinced that it would retain the firearm against a gun grab.

What I want is a midrise holster with one non-obvious release point. Not a highrise, as my Dunlop will push it out, not a lowrise that will stick out under a cover garment. Prefer leather but will consider other materials.

Any ideas?
