MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin’s new concealed carry law bans hidden weapons in-and-around schools. But Baraboo school officials have discovered an older law which could make it legal for kindergarteners to carry concealed weapons, if they don’t realize that they have them. District administrator Crystal Ritzenthaler asked her state representative, Democrat Fred Clark, to close the loophole. He proposed a bill Monday to do just that. The older gun ban defines a school as grades one-through-12 – ignoring kindergarten and pre-school classrooms. Under Clark’s bill, the ban on concealed carry would apply to all school classrooms, regardless of the students’ grade level. Clark is asking his colleagues to co-sponsor the bill before he introduces it. He said it was most likely unintentional for lawmakers to exclude kindergarten from the gun-free school law.

So according to the article it is a crime for a kindergartner to knowingly carry a concealed firearm, but the want to also make it a crime for the kindergartner if he has no knowledge of the firearms presence?

WOW, the stupidity is thick these last few months.

I typically do not comment on the articles found in podunk town articles, but this ine was so damn stupid and flawed I felt the need to post.

How many kindergartners do you know that carry guns to school?

The children are the problem. Video game playing gangsters one and all. They have no respect for the old ways.

It's a little known fact that small children were once used as pack mules. School was a luxury. So after a hard morning of working the fields the children were loaded up with produce and trade items. They were then sent 20 miles uphill, in the snow while barefoot, to school. While in town they would exchange goods with merchants. Often times firearms were part of the trades. Unfortunately the older children would often engage in duels and other acts, like besting cave bears, to prove their manhood. This was often expensive, the cave bears usually won, so eventually the portage of firearms was strictly relegated to the tiny tots. They were often told they were carrying picks and shovels as added security. They never knew what they were carrying. This practice eventually died out as the popularity of steam and electric powered buggies grew. You can only pack about three dozen long rifles on the back of a five year old.

Good one! There must be a name for this art form, other than "Tall Tale".

This could have been written by Patrick F. McManus, or told by Rancid Crabtree!

The OldenTymes are no more. Let us not lament what once was but look forward.

We should outlaw smallish children in pre-school and kindergarten. They serve no purpose since we cannot utilize them for manual labor. Anymore. At least not without "permits". Plus, modern day imps are untrustworthy and unusually observant. It would be nearly impossible to strap a bundle of concealed firearms to one without them knowing. Their own cleverness has rendered them as useless as the buggy whip, creamy peanut butter, free TV, the ATF, and the modern Banking Industry.

So lets do the right thing and close this loophole.

We must ban all kindergarteners!
