    40,000 new laws go into effect in 2012

    Remember what Will Rogers said? "When Congress makes a law, it's a joke and when they make a joke, it's a law." Same applies to the state legislature.

    Don't remember who said it, but, "When the legislature is in session, no man's wallet or reputations is safe."

    Serious note: When are these clowns that have managed to attain positions in the legislative branch going to learn that making something illegal usually makes that thing more profitable to the criminals who aren't going to obey the law anyway?

    I don't have a HUGE problem with new laws (40k seems high as hell tho) but they need to take old laws off the books....


    I've said it before... no person can possibly make it thru 1 hour without breaking some law....

    The beginning text of the First Amendment is "Congress shall make no law..."
    A lot of us think they should have stopped right there.

    I'd like to propose that for every new law, code, or regulation, they be required to strike two existing ones from the books.
