SB 67: Concealed handgun permit applications; fingerprints.

Concealed handgun permit applications; fingerprints. Removes the option for a locality to require that an applicant for a concealed handgun permit submit fingerprints as part of the application.

Already been referred to Courts of Justice committee.

Have committee asignments been made yet? The file still shows a democratic chairman Marsh (Chairman), Saslaw, Quayle, Norment, Howell, Lucas, Edwards, Reynolds, Puller, Obenshain, McDougle, Deeds, McEachin, Petersen, Stuart

Last year's committee members. We'll need to watch for what happens soon, when they organize and Bolling will be needed to cast the tie-breaking vote. Watch for the Democrats to squeal like stuck pigs, and I hope Bolling shouts them down for being "out of order" like Marsh did in years past.

This one passed the Senate today 26-14!

Should pass the House fairly easily - in 2010, they passed an identical bill 83-15, only to be killed illegally in the Senate's "deathstar" subcommittee. Looks like our grassroots effort to eliminate the local requirement for fingerprints will soon be done for us!

We lost these freedoms slowly, a peice at a time.

It will take time to chip away at the walls they build between us and freedom. Patience is good, perseverance is better. Progress, in this case, is a good thing.
