Sounds like currently, there was someone OC'ing near a campus, got into a car with a girl.

Dispatch said word for word here..

"Again he has done nothing illegal other than have a handgun holstered on his hip".

/facepalm

How was that determined?

I am only listening to the scanner. Sounds like the LEO rolled the car immediately upon catching the vehicle. Didn't bother having the plate run. Otherwise, the next thing mentioned was that it was a toy.

I have no idea if he was drawn down on, or treated with respect.

Knowing that it was a toy, I am unsure what to think of it beyond the original comment..

That he didn't do anything illegal OTHER THAN having a holstered handgun. As far as we are aware with "opinion" of law. RAS is not attained by simply OC'ing your sidearm.

Wow... they sure made an educational opportunity for themselves, didn't they?
(The police, not the citizen 'armed' with a toy.)
Though come to think of it, in WI it's a crime to have a toy that looks real, which usually comes to LEO attention if it causes alarm.
Any law like that out there?

Were you listening to the Multnomah County/Portland PD feed on radioreference.com? I know they archive the feed audio and if someone has the premium membership they could share the audio file.
