Taking a trip/caming to Cailfornia

I'll be travelling from Northern Nevada to Johnson Valley, CA next month. With the new laws, what are restrictions for transporting a hand gun in a vehicle, and once I get to my destination in Johnson Valley, I'll be living in my tavel trailer for about a week. I already know about the 10 round magazine lmit. Anything I need to know?

carry unloaded in a locked case. Once in the valley you should be good to go, open carry. If you are going to the CA4WDC event, they do not allow carry at any event.

Thanks! We're running in the King of the Hammers. Didn't plan to OC during the event. When we aren't racing we'll be getting ready for racing or relaxing. But didn't want to go down there unprotected.
