HB 1012: Criminal history record information checks; elimination of fees.

Criminal history record information checks; elimination of fees. Eliminates the fees to be collected by licensed dealers for every firearms transaction that requires a criminal history record information check.

Seems kind of odd... just eliminates the fee... more excuses for slow response?

    Repeal the gun 'Poll Tax'

This would repeal the poll tax imposed on law-abiding purchasers of guns in what ought to be a public safety measure.

    Very nice.

or, just one step of several of a move towards scrapping the vsp ftc in favor of using the fed system. there's another bill, don't have in front of me, to authorize release of some specific va criminal (?) history records to us ag for purposes of inclusion in the nics. another is the removal of long guns from the vsp process. one more is the bill to exempt current/valid chp holders from a nics check. a number of states have that exemption from batfe already.

so, are these all pieces of a bigger jigsaw puzzle??
