So I decided to play some no limit poker at binions casino down on Freemont st. We just got done with a big job at work and wanted to celebrate a little and booze it up. I went with my family and a lady friend who was going to drive us home since I would be drinking. I left my firearm in a locked box inside my trunk (I should have just left it at home but hey, stuff happens). I went to binions and got some chips while the family did their thing. About 2 hours into my poker stay somebody mentions firearms. The talk then goes to how it is illegal to have a firearm in a casino. I haven't said a word at this point. I finally chime in (albeit after a few cocktails) how they are wrong. One guy tells me I'm full of s*&t and should cease from speaking. I offer to bet him $1000 bucks if he could point to a law on the books stating it is illegal. Well the floorman came over at that point and told me I had to leave...WTF!! He says I am wrong and he knows that it is illegal. I walk away and light a smoke. I'm calm and collected and really did not make a scene at all. Then security arrives. The floorman hands me my cash (btw made 50 bucks an hour) and I put it in my wallet. As I pull my wallet out security tells me to keep my hands where they can see them. I let out a "HA SERIOUSLY?" Yes sir we need to see your hands. Well being one who is not fond of being told what I can and cannot do I told him that I do not recognize his authority over me and to refrain from giving me orders as I am leaving. He didn't like that very much. As I am making my way out 10 or so people are now following me including the floorman. Metro is outside on their bikes. Once outside I asked the floorman if he wanted to wager 1000 bucks on the matter and we could have metro take our statement then draw up a contract and have the DA's office confirm in the morning. He declined. Trouble always seems to find me!

I figured I would share this story with you guys and hopefully you can find some humor in the matter!

I think it would have been much more humorous if when told to show your hands you would have done so by shooting the wanna be cop/security clown two middle fingers and stating, "There ya go; take a good look at my hands, pal!"

Greengum, Last time you were tossed at least, you did have an empty holster. You have are real talent, the occasional open carry poster here who does have a negative issue usually has a firearm on them. You have the ability to gets tossed on a firearm issue without one. That is impressive.

More than that, it shows the hoplophobes' paranoia -- they get weak knees if someone even THINKS about a firearm.

When the rentacops said they had to see his hands, he should have folded his arms and waited for their next move. No law permits a private property owner to dictate that any part of your body must be visible.

Just FYI, a private property owner DOES NOT have the right to violate your privacy by demanding identification unless there is a law SPECIFICALLY permitting this and setting limits -- for instance, you have to show your ID when you check into the hotel, but not at any other time -- nor can they search your person, car, closed packages (such as luggage), etc. They CAN detain you if they have the same probable cause as would permit law enforcement to do so, they CAN require you to leave, and they CAN enforce that requirement in whatever manner is appropriate.

They can also be SUED for doing so in an UNREASONABLE way. If you are not causing a disturbance, but THEY do with their actions (such as discussing this in a way which draws attention, or the parade of 20 people to escort one cooperative person out), they can be gone after for the public humiliation that you were put through -- especially if there is no arrest.

Next time I'm down in the Sharp End, I'll have to drop by Binion's and start talking about guns. I can use the money I'll get from the lawsuit after they freak out.

Just had someone in my office yesterday try to tell me it's illegal to CCW in a strip club... Adamantly declared it's illegal. Just rolled my eyes.

That's when you put $20 on the desk and tell them to cover the bet -- with 30 minutes to find the law online -- or admit that they don't know what they are talking about.

My religious beliefs prohibit me from gambling, so when someone who knows me sees me do that, they tend to get real quiet, real quick, because I'm NOT gambling -- I'm collecting my fee for helping them learn something that they didn't know.

Would that work for a gov entity like the DMV?

I was open carrying at the Laughlin River run last year. I even did a test ride while OCing. Was in one of the large parking lot vendor areas when two plain clothed guys came up behind me and got my attention and asked for my ID. It gave me great pleasure because of the additional training I have received from this forum, to smile and at him and politely say,”I am pretty sure I have no obligation to show you my ID”. My reply totally messed him up. With his head cocked like a confused puppy dog, it took him a while to figure out what to say after that. If I remember correctly he started with words like it is illegal to, he stopped short, then said, they are not allowed in, stopped short with that one, as I was smiling at him waiting to pounce on whatever the incorrect statement was going to be.
To make my story short, he did finally say guns were not allowed on the property. At that time I was ready to leave decided to help him out and said if you are asking me to leave I willing to do that and left for home. One of my more enjoyable River Run visits.

In my opinion, that for the most part in a nutshell is the bulk of the motivation of the anti gun movement.

It must be my girlish good looks!

I will say it was very stupid of me to even join in on the conversation. We were short handed in one of the easiest games I have been in. 4 other players, one was a retired guy who never bluffs and will pay you off out of fear he will get bluffed. Then a guy who shook his left leg when he was weak or bluffing. I thought it was a reverse tell because it was so obvious but nope. Then we had 2 guys who were 3 sheets to the wind. Such is life I suppose.

Thing you queers don't realize, you can't sue someone for public humiliation in a casino, because guess what...You're not in a public place.

You caused yourself to be thrown out, I love throwing out ******** like you all day long...because guess what, your not a tough guy at all..you run home and bitch about it on the internet, I bet you walked out with your tail between you legs not saying a word like the little punk bitch you are.

It's unfortunate, because most of you on this forum bastardize OC'ing and weapons in general, you've turned a self defense weapon into a reason to look for conflict...I bet you $1000 you with your little piece of **** handgun don't measure up anywhere near me and my combat experience...you wanna find out? I'll be happy to.

I find it ironic that you would claim some here have perverted the self-defense nature of OC, while you yourself seem to be turning the defensive nature of OC into an offensive one; you seem to be "looking for conflict" with your veiled threats. What say you?

Old guy strength? So that is what they are calling viagra nowadays, eh? :monkey

Haven't you heard? They're changing the name of that tourist attraction to "Viagra Falls."

JackOR does make a valid point -- sometimes we do take OC as a crusade. He fails to understand, however, that this is sometimes necessary. NO civil right has ever been recognized without activism.

I don't see it so much as looking for trouble, or a crusade, but you're right. You have to be willing to put yourself out there. Not to incite a riot, but to have a chance to demonstrate a right, and maybe an opportunity to educate.

I don't need no stinkin' viagra. ;o)
