Last night while discussing HB22, Bob Horiwitz, the little Red Faced Anti that's always lurking, said he opposed the selling of Gun Buyback Guns because most are broken and someone might hurt themselves.:banghead:

When was tthe FIRST time that the YMCA or a church - or the Girl Scouts for that matter - conducted a "buy back" program without the direct involvement of a local unit of government?

Yes, I know that many of these events are staged at venues owned/operated by churches or the YMCA, but they are, to the best of my knowledge, actually conducted by the locality.

Which gives me an idea - let's set up a "buy back" program of our own. Get folks to bring in all sorts of stuff and regardless of condition or value we get it for way under wholesale, let alone retail. And since it's all face-to-face there's no paperwork. Of course, we could ask the police to be there "just to ensure a peaceable operation" - I'm sure they would be overjoyed to assign a few officers some overtime so that we could get cheap guns.

stay safe.

You know, they could take these "broken or dangerous" guns, or even working guns, and instead of destroying them, they could donate them to a company who does firearms safety training.......for the good of the general public.........

...just sayin'

Uh..hum......We have a member whom I like that's the same nationality so I'll skip my colorful description.

He's officially from England but the accent sounds Scot to me.

YES! I said the same thing after I saw and heard him on the news after 2012 Lobby Day, with that lying priest telling everyone there are no restrictions to buy a gun at a gun show (the priest, that is)! I heard Goddard's Cockney accent, and immediately went ballistic, that, here we have some foreign invader we have graciously allowed into OUR native country, telling us that WE should just do like HIS native country has done, and disarm, and work against the possession of our guns! It wasn't enough that people like him left his own countrymen defenseless, but now he feels empowered because his own son was defenseless and nearly killed at Virginia Tech, that we should now ALL be defenseless, and killed, or nearly so! Did we not fight a war of Revolution against Brits like him, and move across the great Atlantic, to get AWAY from people who think and try to disarm others like he is doing?? Now, his generation has followed us here, to try it yet again?

A friend of mine said many years ago that, "I fight this war so my children will not have to do likewise in the future."

He had the right idea, but not quite accurate enough. The best he could hope for was so that his children would be able to do likewise in the future. There will always be someone that wants to take your rights, privileges and freedoms away.

The battle continues and frequently with the same, repeat adversaries.

BTW - the friend was William (Bill) M. Roarke who flew off the USS Coral Sea and was the 1st naval aviator lost in the Viet Nam war. His son grew up and accepted to continue the good fight - he donned the wings of gold - and continued the battle. So too must we.

Well said, Grape. I just believe that patriots like us should MAKE THE MOST of informing people "in the middle" that this POC is NOT one of us Americans! He is a infiltrator, and unless people hear his audible voice and dialect, they will assume he comes from the same red, white, and blue heritage as we. NOT SO! We will never see him mentioned in the leftist news media as:

". . . . . Mr. Goddard (Sr.), an immigrant from socialist Britain (or Aussie, or Canadian, whatever) where the helpless population has been disarmed and crime uncontrolled for years now, said today that. . . . . ."

but I think that is how VCDL and anyone else resisting his rat efforts should mention him in all media contacts we have, EVERY STINKIN TIME. Every interview, every LTE, every time! We don't WANT to be like them, "over there."

I understand what you are saying Joe and I too want a disconnect from the Goddards of this world. Still think we must be careful to not be too inclusive and thereby castigate those from the very same counties that can and do think for themselves. There are freedom loving people everywhere, including from each one of those mentioned countries. They should not be taxed with prejudiced labels. We must remain welcoming and supportive of all who come to our table.

IMHO - the Goddards do a superb job of discrediting themselves. Let then sputter and spew in whatever dialect. Few listen to them anyhow.

Is this the same "Bob Horowitz" who is a retired attorney for the Coast Guard, and is now a craftsman who makes turned wood "objets d'art" from Occoquan VA?...

I don't think so. The anti Bob wouldn't know a skew from a paintbrush, plus he'd have to stand on a step stool to turn.

Ease up up yall (did I spell that right?).

Some that have renounced allegiance to the queen actually meant it. They put their hand up and took an oath and are on the same team. I get the feeling that limey clown had his fingers crossed during his proceeding.

Besides, Canada brings you real syrup for breakfast, not that fake crap that comes out of a bottle shaped like... well you know.

thanks Grape for putting that a lot better than I would have done, and for reminding people that there are those of us from foreign lands who come here and want to embrace the their new home for what it is rather than try to turn it into the country they came from.

I think you were looking for "y'all." A contraction of "you all" that for some unspeakable reason has not been officially accepted into the modern lexicon despite more recent and trivial entrants like "Googled" and "sexting." Sometimes used in place of someone's name, or more often, the nomenclature of a narrow sub-group. Not to me confused with "all y'all," which refers to an the total population of the addressed group.

The reason is clear enough. The plural of "you" is "you".

The verb "to be" is conjugated: I am, You are, He, She or It is, We are, you are, they are.

Unless you're from Joisey, then it would be "Youse guys".
