I remember reading something about it was to protest their attitudes toward freedom of being armed as well as something about gay rights, but I don't remember what about them.

I'll just carry a gun, use the $2 bills, and make sure to wink at the pretty girls to make sure everyone knows why I'm there.

Or if some girls are available to hang off my arms while I'm there, I suppose that would work, too. Coffee will be on me, of course!

lol...it would be way cool if you could get a couple of Vegas showgirls in full costume to go with you draped on your arms.

I hope everyone realizes that a single day (to show 'support' for Starbucks) won't exactly fit the ($2) bill.

The boycott *STARTS* on 2/14 and has no specific end date.

Thus, a frequent (weekly?) visit might be of significance, especially paying with the $2 bill.

Actually, the boycotters (if any) won't be able to go more than a day without it anyway.

And IF (a big IF) this boycott even got the attention of Starbucks, they'll go over the day's receipts and see that they had one of their best days in recent memory, and that will be enough for them to completely ignore the boycotters anyway, which I'm sure they are already doing.

I'm just hoping they publish the results so WE can see what kind a difference WE made!

Craig/Tenaya location

I bought some pumpkin bread at said location and left a $2 bill in the tip jar. I let them know I never really go there and that I didn't like coffee, but I was very vocal about my purpose there and made sure the people in line heard me. The cashier thanked me for the support (btw, I was not carrying since I work at a school and was on my way to work). I plan to head to the location on Sahara/Ft. Apache sometime this afternoon with another gun rights supporter.

The wife and daughter went to one Starbucks and I went to another. We will switch it off this afternoon. We used fresh $2 bills with "Support the 2nd Amendment" written on the back in red. I just sent my shipping/Receiving clerk to get her a cup too with $2.00 bills.

I stopped at the Starbucks on Rainbow @ W. Flamingo about 10:00 this morning. If the boycott had any impact I couldn't see it. The parking lot was full, the drive-through line was full, and every table and chair was filled. There was one table inside with four people packing, but they looked like plain-clothed LEOs more than anything. Because of how they were sitting I could see a woman with grey hair with some sort of patches on her jacket, and a very buff black dude with a large pistol on his right hip. No one smiled or nodded to me so I left them alone, but the woman had her eye on me the whole time I was inside the store.

I grabbed a bag of espresso beans and a drink, and I counted out $20 in two-dollar bills, each with a pro 2A message written in red ink. The cashier asked what the significance of the bills was. I asked hew if she had heard about the boycott and she said yes. I said, "I'm here today to show that I appreciate Starbucks for not bowing to such a silly bunch of people, and the more two-dollar bills you get today the more support you have from folks who feel the same as I do."

I still have another twenty buck in twos so I'll stop at another location on my dinner break tonight at work.

The recent article mentions today only:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4638785...ton_dc/t/anti-gun-group-boycotting-starbucks/

That is from 9 minutes ago as I linked it.

fair-use excerpt:
A gun victims advocacy group called a national boycott against Starbucks coffee stores on Valentine's Day in protest of the company's policy toward guns.

The group National Gun Victim's Action Council wants Starbucks to ban customers from openly carrying firearms in its stores

I would be interested to see the data that 'supports' this hoplophobic statement:
Elliot Fineman, CEO of the NGVAC. "Open and conceal and carry are among the reasons there are 12,000 gun homicides each year in the U.S."

Wow.

I went to the store on lake Meade and buffalo. Had a talk with the young lady manager Janice. She was very welcoming and supportive as we're several of the girls working. They had a couple of others besides me in the morning she said. She also said that corp put a memo out about us, and that metro came by and had a talk with them about state law. Metro told them they should have no issues with us but that the sheep might be scared so call if that had any issues. It was a great visit and she said we were all welcome anytime.

Metro actually sent officers in Starbucks to advise them on OC??? The people I talked to in Starbucks said that they had not heard anything except from me.

This was my experience in Fallon today. I paid in $2.00 bills, and politely explained first about the boycott, then about the bills, and thanked Starbucks. The workers felt the same as I did about freedoms, rights, and the Second Amendment.

Just left the west Charleston starbucks near red rock casino. The employees weren't much older than me (18) and were aware of the boycott. I guess I was the only person that had been through there carrying. I asked the cashier what she thought and replied with it is a "personal preference" on which to carry or not. I made sure to be extra polite and tip on my way out. It was pretty much a ghost town except for black couple and Asian couple who cemented their eyes on my hip the whole time. One girl working there wasn't that bad looking ;)

You did not happen to spot any 55 plus year old good-looking young ladies? “O” wait I found my still good looking girl 33 years ago.
