Bertoglio also said the punishments laid out in Kroeker’s proposal are “excessive,” especially the threat to have a court remove elected officials from office.
“To suggest that if we enact any gun laws, that we violated something, the heavy hand of the judiciary is going to come in and remove an elected official on that basis, I think, is a very slippery slope to get into,” he said. “Because it could be probably used for any number of things in any special interest group’s minds that they vehemently disagree with.”

This is good. These criminals should be executed for attacking our natural human rights, so just losing their job is rather lenient. There should be no safeguards for any person who attacks our freedoms. They should instantly be deemed enemy combatants, and dealt with as such. They should be considered unlawful infiltrators if they sit in a position of government, and attempt to pass any law that infringes upon our rights. These should be looked upon as crimes of the highest order, but unfortunately, many people don't see it as such. Somehow they still believe our legislators have our best interests in mind. An enemy army is less formidable than these types.

The only thing legislators are interested in, is power and money!

Uh... Are you sure you're reading this correctly, or just knee-jerk reacting to the headlines?

"Under the legislation, which sponsors plan to file within the next couple of days, all local government gun control laws would be nullified."

The legislation is DOING AWAY with gun laws, not promoting them. It's as close to a Constitutional Carry law as one gets, without actually giving up 100% of all gun control laws.

Florida's officials were whining about "slippery slopes" when fines were added to their preemption statute.
