OP, since you are new to the Vegas OC scene, let me clue you in on how it works:

1. Being the new guy, steak is on you.
2. Since steak is on you, you name the time and place, and the rest of us will show up. We've got your back.
3. If you include dessert, some of us will dual-wield.

See, easy peasy, no worries. :)

Ok, so, my wife and I are in Vegas from March 25-29, leaving morning of the 30th... I'm taking a course in Pahrump, but staying in Vegas, so will be in the city at the hotel (Circus Circus) around 7pm each night... How does a friendly Canadian get a hold of some people to go OCing with? It will be my first time carrying off duty (armoured car) in public, in the U.S. Oh, i might be able to spring for some desserts, but I'm too poor to buy steaks for everyone. hehe.

Why stay at Circus Circus? That makes the trip to Front Sight about an hour each way. That is pretty far north on the strip. I stay south of the strip so it is about 45 minutes. I'm told though that Pahrump has decent places to eat. I'd stay there but I get employee rates in vegas. While you are taking the class, stay in Pahrump. If this is your first FS visit, you'll be tired at the end of the day and you'll want to dry practice. The vegas drive takes the time away from that.

I've OCed in Circut Circus. No issues. Circus Circus is the only strip hotel I know of that has visible armed security and aggressive roaming security so it isn't the best place to stay anyways. Make sure you move ALL your gear every night from your car to the room. Otherwise kiss it goodbye.

The only issues I had OCing in Vegas is Freemont Street. The casinos there are not very friendly. All the big named hotels (Luxor, Venitian, Cosmo, MGM, New York New York, excaliber) no issues. I guess Mirage has been an issue.

We are staying in Vegas because my wife isn't on the course and she can cruise the strip and hang out at the pool instead of being bored in Pahrump (she doesn't gamble). Circus Circus, because they had a deal when we booked and the entire 5 nights only cost us about $160 or so. Plus, it's a place that we haven't stayed at yet. I didn't realize that there were even casinos/hotels on the strip that DID allow OC. I'm glad Circus Circus does as that makes it easier to get from room to car. Thanks for that info, and the tips.

Be careful. It was posted that someone didn't have an issue. It was not posted that they "allow" it. Their corporate policy (MGM) is against it. Take your chances.

Is there any fine print contract that goes with booking a room there? I'd be curious if it is mentioned at all.
