Went out in Marysville to run some errands. Apparently my Sig is invisible. Nobody noticed. No challenges, no finger pointing, no conversations.

What a boring day. ;)

Yep it's pretty much always like that. When people do notice and say something it's usually high school kids who work at the food places around here. That's about it.

Lessee here...

Dropped load of scrap at Ace Metals in Mukilteo. Fred Meyer, AM/PM, Taco Bell (try the new Doritos tacos). Had a gun. No one cared. Even the Mighty HiPoint failed to terrorize & wreak havoc.

Only from those who spend hudred$ more on unreliable Kimbers. :p

Why is it that an inexpensive pistol that works with uncanny reliability is considered a POS because it won't win any beauty contests, yet a pistol costing around a grand, but spends a good deal of it's life "In the Shop" is a "Work of Art"

Who knows, maybe I should buy a Hi-Point for my TEOTWAWKI stash ;) Maybe a couple and stash them in different places.

I have a nice Kimber Custom II .45 ACP. It has never failed me once. It's certainly a great gun, and It will always be my favorite one.

Oh, and Sigguy, The reason I have not carried my Kimber yet, I have no holsters for it! When I get some cash built up, I'm going to buy a nice Holster for it! I went shopping around, but no one seems to carry Serpa Holsters for 1911's. The only ones I did find were for Glocks and Sigs, but no 1911.

And, no. I'm not buying a Glock. I have way too many guns as it is! :p

Did you try looking on the web? Like Brownells.com or Midwayusa.com or Blackhawk.com or any of the local shops?

I have not looked around the net quite yet, but I did go to several shops. I was told that DJ's Loan & Sport would have something, but they didn't, and I went to Adventure Sports, and still nothing. (They had Holsters alright, but nothing even close to 1911 holsters!)

I certainly will go on to Brwonells & Midwayusa! But I like to buy stuff in person with cash, I'm "old-fashioned" as some would call it! ;)

I guess I'll do some more research!

FMJ I got my SERPA holster from opticsplanet.com They are Blackhawk dealer and have pretty good deals. If you want I can get one from there with a military discount for you and you can give me the cash for it. Just a suggestion.

Never fear Snohomish County, relief is near. Cabela's is opening April 19th. At last, Snohomish County will have a REAL source for just about everything gun/shooting/reloading related. They're planning a big Grand Opening party starting with the ribbon cutting on Thursday and going through the weekend.

Word of caution, it's on the Tulalip Reservation and I don't know how their officers feel about OC. I've never had any issue at Home Depot or Wal-Mart but a big party at Cabela's may get some extra attention.

Ah so they finally set a date. I too would be curious to know who'll be OCing to the grand opening. Won't be me. I plan to stay the hell away from that place for at least a month. I've seen what the Tulalip walmart looks like on an average Saturday. Cabelas will be friggin mobbed.:banghead:

I live near enough I could walk. Actually, it's about 4 miles but that would be a good thing. It would limit the amount I bought on their opening weekend.

For a sneaky trick, park on the Casino Parking lot and just walk across the street. Lots of ways in and out of the Casino lot, not so many for Cabela's.

Good times were had today. FMJ911 and I went to Starbucks on 172nd St. While there I helped him pick and order a Serpa Holster for his Kimber Custom II 1911 from opticsplanet.com.

After Starbucks we went to the range. Man it was busy. I shot about 140 rounds of .40S&W from my pistol and then we took turns shooting his Kimber and Chinese 9mm. Not sure how to spell the name. Thanks for letting me shoot your guns FMJ. That Kimber is awesome.

After the range we went to DJ's BBQ. While looking at the menu, a couple stared at us pretty hard core. They didn't say anything though and continued eating. When we were almost done, one of the employees who was leaving asked what FMJ was packing. He told him a CZ. The guy said oh cool and left.

All in all it was a really good time today. Hope you all have a good St Pats day. I'm gonna get a drink.

I had a lot of fun too! Coffee, Guns, and BBQ is a good combination! I really appreciated your help with picking out a 1911 Holster.

And thank you for letting me shoot your Sig again, that's a cool gun! And you're welcome to try the Kimber and Daewoo anytime! Although, my apologies for the "Squib Incident", I should not have brought those bad .45's along!

Next time, I'll remember to bring the right ammo for my CZ-52, that was sorta embarrassing having the wrong rounds! (Honest Mistake!)

And DJ's was good! I'll have to take my Dad there, He likes anything edible.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to everyone! :)

No Problem. Don't worry about it. It happens. I'm just glad neither one of us got hurt. As far as the CZ rounds go, it's cool. It's not your fault they won't let you shoot that kind.

when the squib happened what was the first sign of it happening? noise, low recoil, or just by sight. glad everyone came out safe.
Dj's is good eats.

It started as a miss fire. Racked the slide to eject and fired the next round. Then another miss fire. Racked the slide again and the shell came out. After that couldn't seat any rounds fully. We couldn't figure out why. Was starting to think the mags or gun had a issue. Then FMJ Racked it back one more time and a bullet that was stuck in the gun just fell out. with no shell or anything. So basically with that round the gun pulled the shell off the bullet and left the bullet sitting inside the gun. First time I ever seen anything like it and I've been shooting and training with firearms all my life. After we got the bullet out, we function checked the weapon. Put different rounds in it and it worked fine.

Yes Dj's is pretty good. I've eaten there twice now.
