You can remove Petsmart (Madison) from the list.
I was there yesterday and observed no signs.
I also had my daughter, who works in the Banfield clinic at the East Towne location, ask the Petsmart manager named Chuck about their policies regarding legal carry. She told me that he informed her that Petsmart is not opposed to legal carry (open or concealed).
Express Convenience store around appleton have recently posted signs, I saw one store tonight and had the person in charge forward one of my "no gun, no money" cards to the higher ups. Also got the number to call corporate. Sounds like somebody decided this was a good idea 3 months after the the law took effect.
The strategy to deal with this is to to open carry discreetly as you shop and NEVER ask permission.
This forces the merchant to either enforce with direct orders to the open carrier to leave the premises or prominently post (posting unfortunately has been hard coded into Wisconsin law such that entry with reasonable or actual knowledge of the gun ban is apparently unlawful - in most states, gun carriers can ignore gun buster signs without any criminal penalty, not even "tresspassing").
Once the merchant takes a stand and provides notice, THAT MERCHANT needs to be put on notice that his establishment is going to be boycotted, and to expect negative publicity, including possibly open carrying protesters on the streets and sidewalks in front of his establishment.
As the weather warms up this year, select some of the smaller establishments for focussed attention by gun rights community - they can be great weekend family fun. Action in the public eye against such merchants will sometimes result in policy changes and/or quiet sign removals. But more importantly, even if the targeted merchant does not change policy, other merchants will be detrred from posting in the first place, and/or quietly remove their gun buster signs.
Remember, we have a lot of consumer power here - merchants do NOT want to post, and do NOT want to order their employees to confront open carriers and publicly create a scene by ordering them to leave, and they surely d NOT want picketers in front of their store fronts.
Call out one of these bully stores at a time and focus - taking them all on at once in a broad boycott campaign is fine but it's the intense focus on one of these bullies which will get you publicity and high payoff for your actions.

[/h][h=6] A ridiculous post on opencarry.org
on the Wisconsin forum. In the thread wiconsin business that violate our rights, a post by Mike super moderator about boycotting and picketing a small business for family weekend fun, etc. This post should be alerted to the major newspapers and other media. The way it is worded is disturbing. I believe the media would run with it.[/h]
Whole Foods, corporate policy
I was discussing this with someone on FB (who happens to be from Chitcago, so the whole city is the same "no (legal) guns" zone), am pointing her to this thread, & realized that WF isn't listed!
I occasionally shopped in their Milwaukee store, armed, but after 01NOV11 they posted & other than to get contact info for the manager I haven't been back.
I made a brief stop tonight at the PDQ store on Cottage Grove Road, Madison, which had been posted with "no weapons" signs. Tonight all such signs are gone. Anyone else been to a PDQ recently?

I drove by last Monday and noticed the signs down so I called to verify but manager didn't even know they were down. He said he would have the district manager call me but he didn't yet. I just went and had lunch there concealed and the signs are still down so I think its safe to say they must of changed there policy.
