This isn't an OC issue, but it's WI related.

Is it legal to own NFA items (suppressors, SBRs, full-auto, etc...) in Wisconsin?

Yes
WI goes by Federal Law. You are free to own NFA items. You may hunt with a suppressed and/or short barreled NFA rifle in WI. You may not hunt with a fully auto in WI but you may own one.

Short answer...Yes.

A google search with NFA Wisconsin turned up this as the very first link... http://www.guntrustlawyer.com/2008/03/wisconsin-wi-what-nfa-firearms.html

And says this....

There are several type of Class 3 items that are restricted by the National Firearms Act.

Each state can impose additional restrictions on the sale, purchase, and transfer of class 3 firearms in addition to the compliance that is required with the national Firearms Act.

In Wisconsin you can own the following items that are regulated the the National Firearms Act

Machine Guns *
except for scientific purpose, or the possession of a machine gun other than one adapted to use pistol cartridges for a purpose manifestly not aggressive or offensive (see 941.27(2) Exceptions to 941.25 and 941.26)

Silencers
Any Other Weapon (AOW)
Destructive Devices (DD)
Short Barreled Shotguns (SBS)
Short Barreled Rifles (SBR)

In Wisconsin you cannot own the following NFA restricted items.
None

Just wondering. In Illinois state law makes NFA items illegal. I was wondering about an NFA trust up in WI.

You may go the trust route but still need a CLEO sign off for full auto in WI as of February 2011 when VanHollen and the ATF joined forces to mess with us. They interpreted 941.27(2) to mean that all full auto need a CLEO authorization.
