looks like the subjects are treating the rulers equally.

* the investigation into the shooting will be conducted by residents of the city. initial reports are the shooter feared for his life after the officer made a threatening movement

@ "*" HAHA! If only...

BAD. Long term, every cop with sense and enough skills to be hired elsewhere will be leaving. Every new cop who can get a job elsewhere will. Ferguson will be left with the lowest quality police force. This will almost guarantee more problems in the future. And with a low quality, problem heavy PD, businesses will move out. Where will the extra money come from? Since you will have to pay even low quality police more to get them to work there.
It may feel good to rouse the rabble and throw out the establishment. Not what do you replace it with? How do you get someone who is qualified, experienced and dedicated to work in a latrine hole under Fed oversight getting spit upon every day when there are quiet little towns down the road?

This would be a nothin'-burger story in most of urban America. It is only the Ferguson spotlight that raises this above a local crime story.
