As usual the news story is at best lacking in detail. There is much we do not know. For instance was intruder attempting to leave scene with wife as hostage at gun point etc... in that case better he defend her life and wound her then to assure her a ghoulish death at their hands.:eek:

Giving up civil rights for security is a certain way to lose both! :eek:
