Some will. Some won't.

When confiscation starts, folks'll have to choose sides, because confiscation in earnest will start a shootin' war.

Agreed! I believe that's exactly what the current administration wants. If there is no real crisis, they will create one in order to "weed out" those Americans who have the audacity to believe in - and are willing to actively "protect and defend" - the original intent of the Constitution of the United States of America as written. This is why Obama is now selecting military leaders based upon their willingness to direct the killing of American civilians. It is why the DHS has stockpiled 4,000,000,000 rounds of ammunition, and requested 7,000 AR-15s. This is why the government is planning to use, or perhaps already using, UAVs (drones) to spy on We the People. I have little doubt we are witnessing the distinct possibility of a nefarious plan coming together.

There is no depth to which a politician would not sink in order to further his personal or party agenda. I believe politicians hold nothing sacred, have no sense of honor, and are generally devoid of either moral compass or conscience. Other than those few minor character flaws, they're fine folks. Pax...

I think they'll be going door to door .. so unless you have a neighborhood "watch" where folks will show up and support the guy whose door is being smashed down (there will be a min. of 9 cops .. SWAT team tactics are not a secret) then unless one is watching his door every second I don't see how anyone person could effectively resist.

They are not going to call you and say "we're coming over in 5".

People would have to Bobbie-trap their doors and entrances ... so when the door gets breached, something will stop them. Of course this is against the law and dangerous.

Why is everyone in this thread assuming a firearm confiscation is going to take place? I would rather take the optimistic view that such will not happen in my life time.

It's called a realistic view of the current Executive Branch of the U.S. Government. It is replete with Communist/Marxist/Socialist/Left-Wing, Liberal-"Progressives". Then, when you connect the dots of recent government agency (DHS) purchasing activities (10 million pistol cartridge .40 caliber 165 grain, jacketed hollow point bullets and 10 million 9mm 115 grain jacketed hollow point bullets, 1.6 million pistol cartridge 9mm ball bullets and 7,000 AR-15s), lack of government concerns over border security (we KNOW the ammo and guns won't be used there), the so-called "Patriot Act" and National Defense Authorization Act (which have severely abridged our 4th Amendment rights), unreasonable gun control proposals, and the authorized use of "surveillance" UAVs within the CONUS, there is a firm foundation for distrust. Then there's the government coverups of activities such as "Operation Fast & Furious", outright lies about the Benghazi fiasco when our Libyan Ambassador and 3 other Americans were killed, Presidential "recess appointments" while Congress is still in-session, and a Congress that lacks the courage to confront the Administration in it's circumvention of the Bill of Rights and other Constitutional issues, there is sufficient reason to distrust our "leadership". This is a lesson that Native Americans learned the hard way. The "Great White Father" (or, in our case, the Great Grey Father) does "speak with forked tongue". If you don't like unpleasant surprises, be prepared for them. Pax...

So is keeping guns that have been declared illegal.

If you are waiting to fight the swat team as they kick in the door you have waited to long.

The LA PD is running scared of one person saying hes out hunting and they know who it is. Let alone thousands of patriots that they don' t know.

I use to have this fear of them taking all our firearms. But then I started looking at how the governments war on drugs was going and my fear subsided somewhat.

But they never took the war on drugs seriously. They just used it as a means to round up certain people and make a crap ton of money.

It'll polarize the nation including the LEAs. The DHS will be the de facto state protection agency as they are already gearing up for future conflict. Time. That is the unknown variable.

Just think of the resources they would have to tie up to protect their own if the fight was taken to them!!!!!!

That is the value of the resistance fighter and the commando in conventional warfare, it is not in the limited damage they do; but in the forces the enemy has to commit to the defense rather than being in the offence.

The LAPD has said very little about it but Christopher Dorner has swarn to kill the families of officers and they are committing a huge number of officers to protect the families.

They are now even holding briefings in secure underground bunkers out of fear of a single KNOWN individual. Let death come from the unknown and see what they do!

DHS should adopt a new logo. Currently they use this one -

dhslogo.jpg

I suggest something along this line -

The actions of DHS give off the odors of borscht and vodka. If they are going to act like the FSB, why not copy the logo as well? Come to think of it, the current administration would probably like that idea! Pax...
