Today is a great day for the People of California. Despite the best efforts of Assemblywoman Lori Saldana and the dirty political tricks used by her cronies in the Senate, AB 1934 was killed on the Assembly floor by the efforts of Republican Assemblyman Chuck DeVore. It's good to see that we still have a few politicians here in California who take their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution seriously!!!

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
California lawmakers have rejected a bill that would have made it illegal to carry unloaded guns in public.

The Senate narrowly approved the measure Tuesday, the last day of the regular legislative session, on a 21-16 vote. But it failed in the Assembly. . . .

Not sure, but I think Jeffries has to be credited also. According to some posts on calguns he was in their mixing it up and stalling/fillibustering to run out the clock.

Hooray AB1934 is dead, liberty lives. Call Saldana and rub it in her socialist face!

Congratulations!!!

God Bless all open carry supporters in California!! Congratulations on the victory.

Now is not the time to rest. Get active and let's make California a shall issue concealed carry state and change unloaded to loaded open carry!

We just fought an open carry assault here in Topeka, KS in June and won! We need to stick together nation wide.

California is special to me because I was stationed at Camp Pendleton from 1984-1988. Best time of my life.

Great Job!

Hey right on Cool, but lets just remind her that she was wrong to take this issue on the way she did.

Liberty Lives! Yes, for now.

Remain vigilant as always.

Why in hell to we have to fight these battles anyway. Well I guess it will have to be good enough to keep fighting on!

I for one am not elated as much as glad I am not bummed out again by irresponsible legislation.

I don't post much, but I follow everything that goes on here on this forum and with our legislature that is 2A related. I'm very pleased that my state Senator (Huff) is a very pro-2A guy, and to my amazement even sent a letter back to me in acknowledgment of my letter to him on this bill and his opposition to it.

We still have a long way to go to restore our complete 2A rights in this State but this is small victory toward the greater cause. Keep up the good work everyone!

He is the only one who acknowledged my email, and I'm not in his district. All the others just asked for donations.

Went even further than I originally thought I would. I Called Lori's Sac office and politely asked that she do the people's business and refrain from being a... Domestic Enemy

Congratulations To Kalifornia OCers

A hearty congratulations to those OCers in Kalifornia for keeping "some" of your rights intact. This is a great victory but you know the job is far from complete. This battle doesn't end the war. The enemy is re-grouping and you'll have to fight even harder next time. You should go on the offensive and try for the loosening of even more restrictions of your liberties. We're behind you and we'll do all we can to help!

Keep fighting the good fight!

Outstanding!

I think the key comment here is: "It's good to see that we still have a few politicians here in California who take their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution seriously!!!"

Ms. Saldana did not. She violated the oath she swore to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America when she proposed this bill, as did the 21 members of the California Senate who voted for this bill.

Mark their names. VOTE THEM OUT. We do NOTneed "Americans" in office who refuse to uphold their vow of office.

Thank God for the General Assembly!

This is a good thing considering California used to be HIGHLY strict on firearms and limit you how much you can carry ammo wise. 2 years ago I was told by a police officer that I could not carry more 12 rounds of 40 caliber ammo. I asked him where this law was and he could not tell me. I got stopped by another officer later in the day and neither of them could tell me where I can find this rule of "Limited amount of Ammo".
