One of the local television stations just posted online about a former state trooper who is being released from prison after twenty-five years. His crime? He shot his trooper girlfriend in the back of the head as she sat in her patrol car!! His motive? The $350,000 life insurance policy he took out on her.

This is the comment I posted on the website:

I think that, had he not been law enforcement, he would still be behind bars. Shame, shame, shame.

The average time spent in jail in America for 1st degree murder is 17 years.

If you watch the show First 48 Hours on A&E they have a special where they follow up on cases they featured and show the trial and sentence. It is absolutely disgusting to see vicious and senseless murderers getting 15-20 years for their crimes.

Unfortunately being a cop doesnt appear to have anything to do with being released after 25 years. In America, we just seem to go easy on murderers often.

No, I would say you're a violent felon hater, as are most people on this forum I bet.

now i wouldn't say that. remember you can catch the wrong fish and be a felon. can't remember the name of the book, but it was on how many time you commit a felony a day
